A vehicle’s tires are extremely important. The average tire footprint is less than 10x11” or less than a standard sheet of paper. Good tires are essential for steering, stopping, hydroplaning, sliding, etc. New tires measure 10-12/32nds, therefore, when your tires are worn to 3/32nds or less it is time for new tires and yes in most cases tires should be replaced in pairs unless All Wheel Drive (AWD) or your vehicle is full time 4x4 in which case all four should be replaced at the same time. The Tire Penny Test is a quick and easy way to determine if your tires need to be replaced. |
